Sant Jordi, celebrated on April 23rd, is Catalonia’s day of love and literature. Inspired by the legend of Sant Jordi, people exchange roses and books, filling streets with stalls and a festive atmosphere. It’s a unique blend of romance, culture, and tradition.     Promoting Catalan food is more than just sharing delicious recipes—it's about celebrating our heritage, fostering connections, and embracing diversity. A collaboration with Prodeca, Government of Catalunya and Expand in West Africa championing this cause.

    TCT prepared the meal for the event highlighting Catalan products and traditional recipes. Prior to the dinner, attendees took part in a workshop where they learned to make Pa amb Tomàquet, a dish emblematic of Catalan identity.

Masterclass @ Universidad Externado de Colombia

  • Students were welcome to this Masterclass on Catalan Cuisine at Universidad del Externado de Colombia. We explored how Catalan cuisine has evolved through the influence of various civilizations, from the Iberians, Romans, and Moors, to French culinary traditions. These cultures introduced not only key ingredients but techniques. In the 20th century, Catalan cuisine was transformed by Nouvelle Cuisine and later by Ferran Adrià, whose innovative techniques at El Bulli revolutionized global gastronomy. We explored the iconic dishes and products that reflect this rich culinary history as well. mersive sensory experiences and connect with manufacturers, importers and distributors.

Costa Brava-Pirineu de Girona Board of Tourism- Road Show USA 2024

  • In collaboration with the Patronat de Turisme de la Costa Brava i Pirineu de Girona, we hosted a series of events on the West Coast to share the rich culture, cuisine, and traditions of Catalonia.

    The sessions highlighted the unique charm of Costa Brava and the breathtaking beauty of Pirineu de Girona while diving into the fascinating history of Catalan cuisine—a reflection of the region's deep-rooted heritage and passion for gastronomy.

    To bring the experience full circle, we ended with a hands-on Pa amb Tomàquet workshop, where attendees learned to craft this quintessential Catalan dish. It was a memorable journey through flavors, stories, and the vibrant soul of Catalonia!

Catalan American Council 2024 Galas

New York, San Francisco, February 2024

  • The Catalan American Council recently hosted a series of exquisite galas, marking a vibrant celebration of Catalan culture and community in the United States. These remarkable evenings, held in two iconic cities—New York and San Francisco—brought together Catalans and friends of Catalonia to foster connection, highlight achievements, and showcase the rich heritage of the Catalan diaspora.

    As a proud participant and chef for these events, I had the honor of curating a culinary experience that celebrated Catalonia’s renowned gastronomic traditions. From the bustling energy of New York’s cultural crossroads to the innovative spirit of the San Francisco Bay Area, each gala became a platform for the Council's mission: to unite and uplift Catalans living in the U.S. through shared traditions and dynamic collaboration.

    These galas not only celebrated our shared identity but also highlighted the potential of our growing network. They are a testament to the Council’s vision of building a strong, engaged Catalan-American community. It was a privilege to contribute to this effort by bringing the flavors of Catalonia to the table and crafting a menu that reflected our region’s rich culinary legacy.
